Steve provides services to clients doing real estate business and commercial transactions, business and real estate financing, rezoning and development, construction projects, and forming or restructuring businesses or real estate projects. Steve has a Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Rating of AV Preeminent® 5.0 out of 5 and is annually listed in Columbus CEO magazine's "Top Lawyers" in the practice areas of contracts, real estate, and zoning, planning and land use law.  In 2021, Steve was listed as Top Rated Construction Lawyers by The American Lawyer and The National Law Journal.

Steve obtained his B.A. in Economics from Rutgers College in 1969. Prior to receiving his degree from Capital University School of Law in 1973, he was the recipient of American Jurisprudence Awards for Distinguished Scholarship and elected to Order of the Curia.

Admitted to practice before all courts in Ohio, Steve is also admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Southern and Northern Districts of Ohio, the United States District Court for the District of Arizona, the United States Tax Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court. He has appeared, by pro hac vice admission, for the purposes of a single case, in the United States District Courts for Minnesota, the Southern District of Indiana, the Western District of Michigan, and the Northern District of Florida.

Steve is a member of the Delaware County Bar Association and the Ohio State Bar Association, and is a fellow of the Columbus Bar Foundation.

He has served as a speaker and/or panelist at continuing legal education seminars presented by the Columbus Bar Association, the Ohio State Bar Association, the Ohio CLE Institute, the Lorman Education Center, the National Business Institute, and the University of Michigan's Institute for Law Firm Management.

Steve and his wife, Deborah, who is a former (and first female) Delaware County Commissioner, reside in Delaware and are active in numerous civic and charitable organizations.  He was the Delaware Area Chamber of Commerce's Citizen of the Year in 2008.  Steve serves as pro bono counsel for Main Street Delaware, the Delaware County Foundation, the Delaware County Historical Society, and the Strand Theatre and Cultural Arts Association, frequently provides pro bono services for other organizations, and is a current member of The Strand's board of directors and is director emeritus of the Delaware County Foundation.
